Anna Lena Bergander (Master)

During my bachelor’s program ‘Bioinformatics and Genome Research’ at Bielefeld University I discovered my interest in the application aspect of bioinformatics and focused on analyzing genomic and transcriptomical data produced with next-generation sequencing methods.

During my research project at EvoGen as part of my master’s degree, I will implement a bioinformatic pipeline to extract epigenetic markers from Oxford Nanopore sequencing data in avian genomes.

Sepideh Zarandooz (Master)

I am a Genome Biology master student with a background in Animal Biology. My research interests are mainly in human mental states and mood disorders while discovering their relations with evolution. The focus of my master’s project is narrowed on the comparative analysis between the human genome and other mammals, especially non-human primates. The purpose of this project is to investigate the differences in genetic context of mood trait related loci.
